FAQS

A top of the line Korean hydrofacial with extractions and skin boosters, depending on your skin’s needs. Treatment may include high frequency, LED light therapy, or additional extractions.

Korean hydrofacial technology is known for giving clients “glass skin”. It’s a powerhouse hydrodermabrasion procedure safe for all skin types that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration and antioxidant protection all in one.

The Upkeeper finishes with a skin strengthening ampoule and modeling mask to improve wrinkles, fine lines, blackheads, & acne. Unlike other hydrofacials, our Upkeeper serums include renowned Kbeauty anti-inflammatory ingredient, Centella Asiatica.

*Facial treatment—no consultation required.

  • Arrive with a clean face — little to no makeup and no heavy skincare products.
  • Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin is more forgiving and supports better results.
  • Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure before your appointment — do not treat actively sunburned skin.
  • For those with beards or thicker facial hair, shaving beforehand allows for a fuller treatment experience, though it is not required.
  • Let your esthetician know about any active breakouts, sensitivities, or recent skin treatments.

No downtime. You can return to your day immediately after treatment.

  • Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure and any physical activity that causes internal heat or sweating for 24 hours post-treatment — your skin is freshly treated and benefits from a calm environment.
  • Apply SPF 30+ daily — sun protection is essential after any facial treatment.
  • Cleanse gently and moisturize well for the first 24 hours.
  • Some clients notice mild transient flushing that resolves within a few hours — this is normal.

Expect your skin to look immediately brighter, more hydrated, and balanced after your first session. Fine texture appears smoother, and a healthy, refreshed glow is noticeable right away.

The Upkeeper is designed as a maintenance ritual — consistent sessions help your skin stay clear, supple, and resilient over time, building a strong foundation for any other treatments in your skin journey.

How often should I get The Upkeeper?

For healthy skin maintenance, we recommend a treatment every 4–6 weeks, aligned with your skin's natural cell turnover cycle. If you're prepping for an event or want to be more aggressive with your goals, The Upkeeper can be done every 2 weeks.

How far in advance should I book before a big event?

For a fresh, event-ready glow, we recommend scheduling 3–4 days before your event. If you have sensitive or reactive skin, aim for about 1 week out to allow any redness from extractions to fully subside. For weddings, we recommend coming in for at least one trial session a month prior.

Is this treatment suitable for sensitive skin?

Yes — The Upkeeper is one of our most accessible treatments. The Korean aqua peel technology uses controlled suction and hydrating serums rather than aggressive mechanical exfoliation, making it gentle and well-tolerated by most skin types, including sensitive skin.

How is this different from a regular hydrafacial?

The Upkeeper uses Korean hydrofacial technology developed in partnership with our Seoul-based partner, Histolab. Our machine uses a blend of potent active ingredients cushioned with centella asiatica — a renowned K-Beauty anti-inflammatory — delivering effective results while keeping skin calm and supported. The focus is on hydration balance and barrier support, resulting in a more refreshed, less aggressive experience.

Does it include extractions?

The Upkeeper includes tool-based extractions using ultrasonic spatula and comedome extractor tool to get out congestion and gunk. At Saelo, we don't do extractions with our hands and won't attempt to extract if we believe it will lead to skin barrier rupture or excessive pain.

FAQS

A cutting-edge skin regeneration procedure from South Korea that stimulates collagen with exosomes and stem cells after nanoneedling.

Spicules, a cutting-edge technology from South Korea, use tiny topical needles from hydrolyzed sea sponges to stimulate skin regeneration through microdermabrasion and chemical peeling.

Exosomes facilitate communication between skin cells and stem cells, enhancing regeneration safely and effectively. Our exosomes are highly potent due to their origin from young, healthy blood cells from human donors, offering the highest regenerative potential on the market.

*Facial treatment—no consultation required.

  • Arrive with a clean face — little to no makeup and no active skincare products.
  • Stay well-hydrated in the days leading up to your appointment.
  • Avoid prolonged direct sun exposure before your appointment — do not treat actively sunburned or razor-burned skin.
  • Avoid retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and exfoliating actives for at least 3–5 days prior.
  • Do not schedule if you have active cold sores, warts, cystic acne, rosacea, or have had Botox/fillers within the past 7 days, IPL/laser within the past 14 days, or Accutane within the past 6 months.
  • For those with beards or thicker facial hair, shaving beforehand allows for a fuller treatment experience, though it is not required.
  • Let your esthetician know about any sensitivities, skin conditions, or recent treatments.

24-hour downtime period. Leave your skin completely alone after treatment.

  • For 24 hours post-treatment: do not wash your face, apply makeup or SPF, sweat, or expose skin to direct sunlight.
  • This 24-hour rest period is critical to allow the exosomes to fully absorb and the skin channels to close properly — do not skip it.
  • After the 24-hour window: resume gentle cleansing and apply SPF 30+ daily.
  • Avoid exfoliating actives (retinol, AHAs, BHAs) for 5–7 days post-treatment.
  • Do not pick or rub any natural flaking — let skin shed on its own.
  • Skip intense exercise and heat exposure (saunas, steam rooms) for 24 hours post-treatment.

The Devotee works progressively — each session builds on the last. Improvements in skin texture, pore clarity, and luminosity typically become noticeable 1–3 weeks after your first treatment, with the most meaningful changes emerging after a series. Congestion clears, early fine lines soften, and skin takes on a more uniform, refined quality.

Because the nano-needling technology is gentle yet effective, results develop naturally over time — no dramatic downtime, just consistent skin renewal.

How many sessions do I need to see optimal results?

We recommend a series of 4–6 treatments for optimal results. Because results depend on your skin's genetic makeup and current condition, consistency matters more than any single session. Treatments can be spaced every 3–4 weeks for regular progress, or every 2 weeks if you're working toward a specific goal or event.

What exactly is liquid nano-needling, and how is it different from traditional microneedling?

Liquid nano-needling uses spicules — microscopic, bio-derived channels — to create tiny pathways in the skin's surface that allow topical exosomes to penetrate into deeper dermal layers. This stimulates wound healing factors, collagen production, and cell regeneration without traditional needles or injections. There's no blood, no dermal puncture, and significantly less downtime than medical-grade microneedling — making it ideal for those who want meaningful results with a gentler, more accessible experience.

Is The Devotee safe for sensitive skin?

Yes — The Devotee was designed with sensitive skin in mind. The nano-needling technology stimulates without over-triggering a stress response, and Korean exosomes are specifically developed for potency and gentleness across all skin types. Note that rosacea is a contraindication for this treatment — please disclose any skin conditions during your consultation.

What's the difference between topical exosomes (Devotee) and injected exosomes?

Topical exosomes delivered via nano-needling (as in The Devotee) target surface-level concerns like texture, tone, and fine lines — with minimal downtime, no needles, and a more accessible price point. Injected exosomes are delivered into deeper skin layers, making them better suited for deeper wrinkles, scarring, or volume loss, but with higher cost and more downtime. The Devotee is an excellent starting point and an ideal maintenance complement for those who also pursue injectable treatments.

FAQS

*Medical consultation is included in the first 30 minutes of the appointment.

Medical microneedling paired with advanced skin boosters to improve skin resilience, texture, and elasticity. Controlled micro-injury stimulates collagen renewal while helping active ingredients absorb more deeply for smoother, stronger, clearer skin.

The Disciple is a foundational, preventative treatment designed to strengthen skin over time, not just chase short-term glow. At Saelo, microneedling is paired with advanced Korean skin boosters applied topically like Rejuran HB, Rejuran Healer, Juvelook, exosomes, or Skinvive (US) depending on your goals — using a holistic and stacked approach. Redness is expected as skin begins its repair process. Skin prep and aftercare are provided by our medical team.

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for 3–5 days prior, unless medically necessary — always consult your physician before stopping any prescribed medication.
  • Discontinue retinol, AHAs, BHAs, and all exfoliating actives for 7 days before treatment.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for at least 1 week prior — do not treat recently sunburned or compromised skin.
  • Do not schedule if you have an active cold sore, open infection, cystic acne, warts, recent Botox/fillers (within 7 days), IPL/laser (within 14 days), or Accutane use within the past 6 months.
  • Arrive with a completely clean face — no makeup, SPF, or active serums.
  • Your skin booster — Rejuran, Exosomes, or JVLOOK Skin — will be selected during your consultation based on your skin goals and condition.

Redness and mild swelling are expected for 24–72 hours. Some clients see minor pinpoint marks that resolve within a few days.

  • Do not touch, rub, or apply pressure to the treated area for at least 12 hours post-treatment.
  • 24 hours of no sunscreen, makeup, or any other products on the face
  • Apply only the post-care products provided or recommended by your provider — no actives, retinol, or acids for 7 days.
  • Cleanse gently with a fragrance-free cleanser twice daily once the initial rest period has passed.
  • After 24 hours, adhere to strict sun avoidance and SPF 30+ every morning — sun protection is critical during the healing phase.
  • Avoid intense exercise, saunas, hot showers, and steam rooms for 48 hours.
  • Do not pick, peel, or exfoliate any flaking skin — let it shed naturally.
  • Skin prep and aftercare are provided by your MA and included in your treatment.

The Disciple delivers foundational, progressive improvement to skin resilience, texture, and elasticity. Results unfold over 4–8 weeks as collagen remodeling occurs and the skin boosters integrate. After a series, skin becomes visibly smoother, firmer, and more even in tone and texture. Think of each session as strengthening your skin's underlying infrastructure — the kind of work that pays dividends for months.

A series of 3 or 5 sessions (available at a discount) amplifies and sustains these results over time.

How is my skin booster selected, and what are the options?

Your skin booster is chosen during your consultation based on your individual concerns and goals. Rejuran is a polynucleotide-based booster known for deep repair and skin barrier strengthening. Exosomes are messenger molecules that promote cellular repair and are excellent for overall rejuvenation and decreasing inflammation. Juvelook Skin offers targeted hydration and collagen support. Your provider will guide you to the option that best fits your skin.

Is the treatment painful?

A topical numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to maximize comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as mild prickling or warmth. The depth and intensity are calibrated to your skin's tolerance and treatment goals by your medical provider.

How many sessions do I need, and how far apart should they be?

A series of 3–5 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is the recommended protocol for meaningful, lasting results. Sessions are available at a discount — 10% off for 3, 15% off for 5. Your provider will outline a personalized plan during your consultation.

What's the difference between The Disciple and The Devotee?

The Devotee is a non-medical facial using liquid nano-needling technology — gentle, no needles, minimal downtime, performed by our licensed estheticians. The Disciple is a medical-grade treatment performed by our clinical team using SkinPen microneedling, which creates controlled micro-channels in the dermis and is paired with targeted skin boosters applied topically. The Disciple produces deeper structural change in skin resilience and elasticity and is the right step for those ready to invest in more advanced skin transformation.

FAQS

*Medical consultation is included in the first 30 minutes of the appointment.

Injectable skin boosters are delivered evenly across the skin through precise micro-injections to improve hydration, elasticity, skin thickness, and pore appearance while refining overall skin quality.

A focused skin-quality treatment designed for deeper hydration, visible plumpness, and stronger, more resilient skin. Unlike Disciple, which uses controlled micro-injury to stimulate repair, Evangelist places skin-rebuilding ingredients directly into the skin. Skinvive, Rejuran HB, or Rejuran Healer are used to support collagen, glow, and long-term skin quality refinement. Tiny raised bumps are expected briefly after treatment. In Seoul, it’s common to see people out shopping with them. Skin prep and aftercare are provided by our medical team.

  • Arrive with a completely clean face — no makeup, SPF, or skincare products.
  • Disclose all medications, supplements, previous injectables, and recent aesthetic treatments at your consultation. This is essential for your provider to build the right treatment plan.
  • Avoid blood-thinning medications and supplements (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E) for 3–5 days prior, if approved by your doctor.
  • Limit alcohol intake for 24 hours before treatment — alcohol increases the risk of bruising.
  • Consider starting arnica supplements or applying arnica cream 2–3 days before treatment to help reduce risk of bruising. Eating fresh pineapple can also help.
  • Avoid all heat exposure for at least 48 hours before treatment: no hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, or jacuzzis.
  • Minimize sun exposure for 1 week prior. Use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ if outdoors.
  • Do not apply self-tanner or arrive with sunburn on the treatment area.
  • Do not schedule if you have an active skin infection, cold sore, or open wound in the treatment area. Cannot be performed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Expect redness, swelling, and possible bruising for 3–5 days. Mild tenderness at injection sites is normal.

  • Do not lie down, bend over, or engage in heavy exercise for 4–6 hours after treatment.
  • Do not massage, rub, or apply pressure to treated areas for at least 24 hours.
  • Continue arnica (topical or supplement) and pineapple to minimize bruising in the days following treatment.
  • Mild swelling, redness, or tiny bumps at injection sites are normal and typically resolve within a few hours.
  • Avoid all heat exposure for 48–72 hours post-treatment: no hot tubs, steam rooms, saunas, or jacuzzis.
  • Do not apply ice packs or use cold water to cool the treated area — let skin cool down naturally.
  • Refrain from exercise or activities that cause heavy sweating for 2 days.
  • Avoid facials, microdermabrasion, or laser treatments for 7 days post-injection.
  • Use gentle, fragrance-free skincare only for the first 7 days — no retinol, exfoliants, or strong actives.
  • Apply SPF 30+ daily and avoid prolonged sun exposure for at least 2 weeks post-treatment.
  • If Sculptra is part of your plan, avoid dental procedures for 2 weeks after treatment as well.
  • Skin prep and aftercare are provided by your MA and included in your treatment

Results from biostimulating injectables develop gradually — collagen synthesis unfolds over weeks to months. Collagen regeneration appears around 3–4 weeks post-treatment as production increases. Full results from a complete series build over 3–4 months and, with proper maintenance, can last 12–18 months or longer.

What are skin boosters?

Skin boosters in Korea are popular, minimally invasive, injectable treatments designed to improve skin quality from within, focusing on intense hydration, collagen stimulation, and restoring the skin barrier for a "glass skin" effect. Unlike fillers, they do not add volume, but rather use ingredients like Polynucleotides (PN), PDLLA (Poly-D, L-Lactic Acid), and Hyaluronic Acid (HA) to boost elasticity, hydration, and radiance. Skin boosters directly restore and regenerate your skin, as opposed to simply adding volume.

What are polynucleotides (PN)?

Polynucleotides (PN) are natural, high-molecular-weight DNA fragments derived from salmon or trout sperm, used in injectable skin treatments to regenerate tissue and stimulate collagen. Unlike fillers, they act as biostimulators, improving skin elasticity, hydration, and reducing inflammation, making them effective for rejuvenation and eye-area treatments.

Is the treatment painful?

Comfort is a priority. Treatment involves multiple micro-injections (1-2mm depth) into the dermis, typically with minimal downtime (24-48 hours). Topical numbing is applied prior to all injections, and your provider will work carefully to ensure you are comfortable throughout. Most patients describe pressure or brief stinging at injection sites—everyone’s pain tolerance is different, and communication with your provider during the treatment is essential.

FAQS

*Medical consultation is included in the first 30 minutes of the appointment.

Our holy grail treatment for aging backwards undetectably is a stacked protocol built around collagen-stimulating skin boosters delivered through precise micro-injections. It targets skin longevity, elasticity, thickness, tightness, pore appearance, and deep hydration that lasts for months. Tiny raised bumps are expected briefly after treatment, and in Seoul it’s common to see people out and about with them. Finished with a soothing, cooling mask.

A Seoul-inspired stacked treatment delivers biostimulation at multiple layers in one session. Unlike microneedling, it places skin-rebuilding ingredients directly into the skin for deeper hydration, plumpness, and refined skin quality. Skinvive, Rejuran HB, or Rejuran Healer are paired with either 600 shots of Oligio RF or one vial of Sculptra for deeper collagen support.

  • If Sculptra is part of your plan, avoid dental procedures for 2 weeks before treatment.
  • Do not schedule if you have an active skin infection, cold sore, or open wound in the treatment area. Cannot be performed during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Expect redness, swelling, and possible bruising for 3–5 days. Mild tenderness at injection sites is normal.

  • If Sculptra is part of your plan, avoid dental procedures for 2 weeks after treatment as well.
  • Skin prep and aftercare are provided by your MA and included in your treatment.

The Idealist is our most advanced skin quality investment. Results from biostimulating injectables develop gradually — collagen synthesis unfolds over weeks to months. With Oligio, you may feel subtle firmness immediately, with visible tightening and collagen regeneration appearing around 3–4 weeks post-treatment as collagen production increases.

Full results from a complete series build over 3–4 months and, with proper maintenance, can last 12–18 months or longer. This is precision, layered skin optimization — not a quick fix, but a lasting transformation in skin thickness, tightness, and overall quality.

What's the difference between Oligio and Sculptra, and how will I know which one I'm getting?

Both are biostimulators — they work by stimulating your body's own collagen production rather than adding volume. Oligio is a radiofrequency laser popular in Korea, delivering energy and heat at multiple depths targeting the dermis, making it ideal for precision tightening and skin quality refinement. Sculptra (poly-L-lactic acid) is an injectable that diffusely stimulates collagen over time, building firmness and volume. Your provider will assess your facial anatomy, skin quality, and goals during your consultation to determine which approach — or combination — is right for you.

How many sessions are recommended and when will I see results?

Most clients see noticeable results after just one session, but optimal results typically appear after a series of 1–3 treatments spaced 3–6 months apart, depending on skin laxity and individual response. With Oligio, you may feel some immediate tightening, with visible results building over 3–4 weeks as collagen regenerates. For maintenance, a session every 6–12 months is recommended to support ongoing collagen production and preserve the lifting effect. Sessions are available at 10% off for 3 or 15% off for 5.

Is the treatment painful?

Comfort is a priority. Topical numbing is applied prior to all injections, and your provider will work carefully to ensure you are comfortable throughout. Most patients describe pressure or brief stinging at injection sites—everyone’s pain tolerance is different, and communication with your provider during the treatment is essential.

Can I combine The Idealist with other Saelo treatments?

Yes — The Idealist is designed to work synergistically within a broader skin protocol. Many patients layer it with The Disciple for compounding collagen support, or maintain between sessions with The Upkeeper or Devotee. Your provider will help you build a personalized timeline that makes sense for your goals and schedule.
