FAQ

Policies

What’s your cancellation policy?

Running late? Text us at 415-223-1758. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment, as well as no-shows, are subject to a $120 fee to cover your providers valuable time. We can typically still see you up to 15-20 minutes late, but appointments always finish at their scheduled time and proceeding with treatment is at the discretion of the technician on the day.

We understand that schedules change. To best serve all of our clients and providers, we ask that you notify us of any cancellations or rescheduling requests at least 24 hours before your appointment.

This applies to all services and appointment types. To cancel or reschedule, please contact us as soon as possible by phone or email (info@saelo.xyz). We appreciate your understanding, and look forward to seeing you!

Treatments

What makes Saelo’s treatments Korean?

Our treatments were developed in partnership with Seoul-based biotechs and local provider experts to prioritize skin barrier protection and prevention of premature aging, hallmarks of the Kbeauty philosophy.

Saelo uses primarily Korean products and machines specifically designed for gentle-yet-powerful results. All Saelo technicians receive an extra level of training from Seoul-based clinical team during onboarding.

Finally, our treatments are specifically designed to be stackable, following the prevalent medical aesthetics philosophy in Seoul.

How should I prep before a treatment?

For skin treatments (Upkeeper or Devotee): Come hydrated and with a clean face. Shaving is optional but helps with access to the skin. For facial balancing and regeneration treatments (The Idealist): Avoid blood-thinning medications/supplements for 3–5 days prior if approved by your doctor (aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, vitamin E, garlic supplements). Limit alcohol intake for 24 hours prior. Start taking Arnica supplements 2–3 days before treatment. For Oligio: Avoid heat exposure for 48 hours prior. Minimize sun exposure for 1 week before. Do not apply self-tanners. Wear loose fitting clothing.

Is there downtime or aftercare?

The Upkeeper has no downtime. The Devotee requires 24 hours without washing, makeup, sweating, or sun exposure. After your Idealist treatment, we recommend 24 hours of rest. Avoid strenuous activity, washing your face with cold water, or drinking cold beverages (Oligio). Keeping the skin warm helps your treatment work at its best.

Do I need a consultation first for Idealist? Can I get treated the same day?

Yes. Consultations are required. Many treatments, like injectables, can be performed same day, but not all. Oligio laser is not performed same-day.

When should I book before a big event?

3–7 days in advance is ideal. For weddings, we often work with clients months prior.

How often should I get treated?

For facials and skin maintenance: every 4–6 weeks. For faster results or event prep: our Upkeeper can be done every 2 weeks. For Idealist: every 3–4 months.

What are some contraindications that would prevent me from receiving treatment?

We avoid treatment if you have active infections, cystic acne, recent Botox/fillers (7 days), IPL/laser (14 days), or recent Accutane use (6 months).

Can I get Idealist while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. It includes modalities that are not approved for use during pregnancy or lactation.

Parking

Where can I park?

Parking is limited! We recommend planning ahead to have enough time to park in a nearby garage, as street parking is limited, or using Uber/public transit.
